Prague Film Festival 2026 will present feature films in their Czech premiere – films that have not yet been screened in the Czech Republic. The programme includes the Golden Globe–nominated film My Father and Qaddafi as well as several short films that premiered at Cannes (The Spectacle: Our Own Shadow) and Annecy (Ianna, The Magician). Music videos will also be featured, including a new work by the band Berlin Manson.
From 14 to 19 April, the iconic Kino Pilotů in Prague will become a meeting point for film professionals and film enthusiasts alike. The programme features a masterclass offering an in-depth analysis of The Godfather, the Anirama Pitching Forum, and a range of industry and networking events.
The festival will welcome notable representatives of the international festival circuit, including Isioro Jaboro (TINFF), Dominika Krop (ZOOM Zblizenia), Maximilian Breckwoldt (Berlin Animation Film Festival) and Joaquín Calderón (Navarra IFF). The festival is open to both Czech and international audiences (all films are screened with English subtitles) and is accessible to viewers aged 15+. Prague Film Festival 2026 offers a platform for inspiration, professional exchange, and the discovery of contemporary world cinema.

The festival also introduced ANIRAMA, an industry pitching platform for animated student projects in development. Ten projects were presented, and the top three were awarded a cash prize, a mentoring program from the Shorts Wrap Academy, and access to Foley Stage sound design facilities. Participating schools included FAMU, UMPRUM, UTB Zlín, and Sutnarka Plzeň.
The festival is committed to inclusion, focusing on social issues, minority stories, LGBTQ+ topics, and showcasing top-tier international films. It was founded by two young filmmakers, director Erik Jasaň and producer Hynek Spurný, with the vision to bring artistically acclaimed short and feature-length foreign films- yet to premiere in the Czech Republic-to Czech audiences and film students.

During its first year, the festival also hosted Masterclasses under the banner of the SHORTS WRAP ACADEMY. Gunnur Martinsdóttir Schlüter led a session focused on micro short live-action films under 5 minutes, based on her Cannes-awarded work. The second masterclass featured Elzbieta Benkowska, also a lecturer at the Gdańsk Film School, who discussed dramaturgy and structure in short narrative films featuring two main characters. The festival plans to continue offering similar masterclasses in future editions.
